Is there a free trial?
Cloud has a 14-day trial — full feature set, up to 10 seats, no credit card required at signup. BYOC and Self-hosted run a 30-day proof-of-concept that we scope with your team.
Can I switch tiers later?
Yes. Cloud → BYOC is a guided migration handled by velocity-migrate — same Postgres dump, same blob layout, just pointed at your cloud account. Cloud or BYOC to Self-hosted follows the same path with an extra license-key exchange.
How is a seat counted?
A seat is one active user account in your org. Developers, Reviewers, Admins, and Managers all consume one seat each. Contractors and reviewer-only users count the same — we don't meter by role. Suspended accounts don't bill until they're reactivated.
What counts toward the 10 GB storage on Cloud?
Project blobs, snapshots, replay event logs, and audit log archives. Live session memory is free. Overages bill at $0.10 per GB-month, prorated daily. There is no per-request fee for R2 reads or writes.
How does compute billing work on Cloud?
Compute is metered in container-hours at $0.05/hour, billed monthly in arrears. A container runs while at least one Developer or Reviewer is in the session — idle sessions auto-suspend after 10 minutes. BYOC and Self-hosted pay no compute fee to Velocity; you run the containers yourself.
Annual or monthly billing?
Cloud bills monthly by default. Annual prepay shaves 15% off the seat fee. BYOC and Self-hosted are annual minimum, multi-year available, all invoiced in USD.
Do you provide a DPA and security questionnaire response?
Yes — a DPA, MSA, sub-processor list, and SIG-Lite are pre-canned and shipped on request. SOC 2 Type II is in progress; the latest report ships under NDA. ISO 27001 follows.
Can I bring my own AI keys?
Always. Velocity never proxies AI traffic — keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google live on your org and connect direct from the workspace container. No re-billing, no per-token markup.
What payment methods?
Cloud accepts card and ACH via Stripe. BYOC and Self-hosted are invoiced — wire, ACH, or purchase order are all fine. Procurement paperwork is on us.
What happens if payment fails?
We retry three times across 24 hours and email the Manager each time. After the third failure, the org enters a 7-day grace banner. After that, sessions move to read-only until billing recovers — code is never deleted for a payment lapse.
